My dear friend Kim Anh is one half of the band Saint Le Roq, and the duo are bringing out their first EP this year. In two weeks, I am hustling them and a crew into a van, and driving them into neck deep snow to create their first music video in the mountains.
The video is an amalgam of creepy ideas, to do with animals, and spit, religious iconography, and natures gyrations and all kinds of weird shit that you'll have to see to get, but I'm very excited about it.
BUT, they need your help to make it all possible!
The girls have created these dope t-shirts, which they are using to fundraise the costs of the production.
There are all kinds of goodies on offer for your contribution, which you can see the details of at www.saintleroq.com
If you're able, help us to make this dope project happen.
The long standing mothership of photography in Brooklyn is closing it's doors. Capricious' last exhibition - "The Show Must Go On" - is opening Friday night, and I'll have some work in it. Be sure to come down and toast the end of an era.
I am in charge of marching the Darling army. I like paints, painters, paintings, and painted things. I like photos and writing , boards with wheels, drums, typewriters and wheat beer. I like documentaries, 35mm, and video. Darling is mostly me, sometimes a multitude of others.
I like newspapers, black and white, and British humor. Airplanes are my resting place, and I'm still shocked anyone would ever rent me a car. I can name that artist like you can name that street. Tell me and I will forget, but I will remember later I promise. I pay attention.
